Microsoft PerformancePoint Server and SQL Server 2005 SP2 Cumulative Update

I am installing MS PerformancePoint Server 2007, as a part of the prerequisits, they have asked in install Cumulative update package 3 for SQL Server 2005 SP2, i got the download link from microsoft mailed to me,
the zip self extractor i downloaded is not working as expected.

Is it necessary to install this update?

if so is there any alternative way to download this CU?

We need this to be installed urgently.

As this is a cumulative package, instead you can go for SQL Server 2005 SP3 form the link below:


Further more issues have been resolved in SP3 nearly 9 CU's. The one which you have provided has only 3 CU's.
