in as2, how can I create a program the finds the users area
and converts it to a city name.

for example:  find 'deals' in 'your city'

    You'll need some server side help for this.  It's done by taking the user's IP address, and looking it up in a table to find the registered town.

    It's not particularly accurate, as it's down to where the user's internet provider registers them from, so if somebody is VPN'ing into their office then it'll be completely wrong.

    Sadly, I think you'll have to pay for the service as well - either to get the lookup table, or (more likely) to query an API, which will be the simplest option for you.
