convert site to .MHT

Hi Experts,

I am using CentOS release 5.2 (Final) and would like to know if it is possible to convert the whole site file to a .MHT format.

Is this possible rather than doing each file at a time. Any help will be appreciated.

Regards,

You can try firefox addons:
https://addons.mozilla.org/pl/firefox/addon/8051
https://addons.mozilla.org/pl/firefox/addon/212

I don't use them, but according to their descrption, second one can be the one you are looking for.

Under Windows and Linux alike I use Opera to save web pages to .mht archives. It is my standard browser anyway, and in it the conversion works out of the box, without extensions or add-ons.

Of course, this is single pages only, not complete web sites. The only method of a batch conversion I could imagine would entail using the "Mht file maker" PHP class:
http://webscripts.softpedia.com/script/PHP-Clases/Mht-File-Maker-11521.html
(examples here: http://flyweb.phpclasses.org/browse/file/6894.html)
But unfortunately, you would have to write your own routine in PHP in order to apply this class....

Links I gave you are to firefox extensions. You should install one of them (or both) - go to the website you want to convert to mht (from firefox of course :)), and then save this website as mht (I don't use this extensions, but I think, there will be something like 'save to .mht' or similar menu entry).

If you have your website archived in .tar.gz file, you can unzip and untar it to some directory, and then point your webbrowser to this directory (in address bar type: file:///path/to/directory/with/website). Then use firefox addon or opera (as torimar wrote) to save it to mht file.

Oklit you are saying to save each .php web page and convert them one by one or does your method do the whole lot??

I have unzipped the .tar.gz. If its one by one, there are prob over 700 files!!

Let me know.

I've checked one of addons to which I gave you link (UnMHT) and it doesn't support saving multiple pages to one mht file. Maybe the other supports it (as it has "MAFF multi-page archives (based on ZIP)." in description, but - it's MAFF, not MHT). Didn't check this, as registering is required to download this addon, and I don't want to register.
As far as I can see in MHT file format description it allows you to save just one page (including graphics or other multimedia files, but not other websites linked from the one you are saving).

You mentioned that you can use windows for this - I found http://downloads.zdnet.com/abstract.aspx?docid=763919, but it looks, that it can also save just one page at a time.
Also, I found this: http://www.filecluster.com/System-Utilities/Other-Utilities/Download-Batch-HTM-TO-MHT-Converter.html but this is commercial application (it's shareware, so you can try it to find out if this suits your needs).
Didn't try this windows apps.
