We have some new WCF services we are hosting on our shared infrastructure. As part of testing the developers have asked me to enable WCF tracing. This maybe a vague question as I understand there are several available sources for this (System.ServiceModel,System.ServiceModel.MessageLogging,System.IO.Log,...etc) But is there some info anyone can furnish me with if I should enable tracing for these in terms of the performance hit my servers will take.(CPU Utilization, memory usage, pagefile usage, dat write to cache speed, etc) I have other applications on these servers that I need to be concerned about. (Granted this is only a test environment) . If any one has any info or casn point me to some info it would be greatly appreciated.

Tracing really helps in debugging/analysing the problems. Sure there is a hit in the performance of the server. If you want to isolate this application with other application , you have a separate pool for the application for which tracing is enabled so that doesn't interrupt other application is where there are failures.
