Entourage 2008 on Exchange 2007 Drafts folder HUGE

We have a staff member that is currently using Entourage 2008, Version 12 on his Mac, it is connecting to our Exchange 2007 server and we've recently discovered that his mailbox is abnormally large (90+ GB).

I've identified that his drafts folder is show 89GB! But if I look at it on my MS system or in webmail, it obviously hangs. He says that on his Mac it doesnt have more then 18 items in there and they take up a GB at most...

Is there a bug or fix that someone is aware of for this??

Entourage 2008 on OSX stores the mail in folders NOT a single PST like Windows .. so if you Quit Entourage and browse the directory structure ... look in the Documents folder of the Users Home Folder .. for Microsoft User Data. Inside will be a profile folder for his Entourage Account.

Dig further to see can you identify the source of the large files
I have the same issue and it appears to be the way Entorage encodes an attachment. For instance I start a new message and attach a say MP3 (4MB). If I look on the Exchange mail box the message is 25MB or more.
Check the attachment encoding options in Entorage...Apple Double...encode for any computer....Windows (MIME/Base64) which I have found to be most reliable.

Thanks for the advice guys...

I've identified it as a near 1GB music file, and for some reason it is saved in the drafts folders  90 times in one day at a couple of seperate intervals.. I tried deleting them from his entourage account, but I will try the above recommendations and see how they work.

Will report back, thanks.

We never were ultimately able to determine why the file duplicated so many times.  Attempting to delete the items from outlook or entourage would lock up the client and eventually timeout.  Even OWA would halt when trying to view the contents of the drafts folder.  In the end, we used the right-click and 'Empty Folder' option through OWA without actually listing the contents on screen to delete the items in question.  We have not seen the issue duplicated since.
