gksudo in Novell SLES 10 SP2

I'm trying to create a launcher that will run with su privileges. I can run the command in terminal and it will prompt for a password and run but the term window will stay open.

How can i run this command without having the terminal window open?

su -c "command" doesn't work

gnomesu "command"
