white cursor when boot with xp
when i boot my xp machine, all i get is f12 to change boot. after that, i get a white cursor in the top left corner of the screen. how to i get it to boot without erasing everything?
What is being erased? Does it not boot into XP?
Do you per chance have a flash drive, a CD left in the drivem a external USB hard drive or something else like that attached to the computer? It sounds like it is trying to boot something else besides the hard drive.
could be a disc left in one of the drives, or a USB stick in the machine....
try pressing F8 just after it asks you to press F12 and try and get into safe mode....

How about F2 or DEL to enter setup? You don't see anything on the screen at all except F12 to Chane Boot?
