auto save feature on excel publish via citrix

We have microsoft excel 2003 publish via citrix to our users, for some reason one managers   session 2 -3 times a week disconnects, and he loses all work (data) working on excel. I was asked me look at the auto save feature, which point to c:\document\etc\etc\etc  on his local machine, but when his machine crashes nothing is saved to that local path.. Is it because his excel is publish and used from our servers in LA? or should this feature work even though its publish through citrix.. the drive where is data is saved is also not local

What lockdown policies do you have?  Are you restricting access to the server's C drive?

Have you looked into the Office GPO ADM files to see if that location can be changed?

Yes, you can change the autosave file location using the Office GPO ADM files.

The default location is %USERPROFILE%\APPLICATION DATA\MICROSOFT\Excel
