Crystal Reports Server 2008 - back-compatibilty

We have an existing Crystal Reports Server 11 installation - with many reports & instances on it, reports created in Crystal Reports Developer

We have to migrate to a new machine, and thought we might, at the same time, upgrade to the latest Crystal Reports Server 2008.

My question is this:  is 2008 compatible with reports designed in Crystal 11?

And secondly, has anyone done this?  Will I be able to transfer all my existing reports and their schedules over? This would, of course, be the big win.

Many thanks for any help you can give.

    Accepted Solution

Yes, any report developed from 9 forward will work in the 2008 environment. You can even develop in 2008 and open in 11, for the most part.

There is an import wizard that you can use to import all of your reports and instances. A schedule is an instance so it should come over. I will say that I have not had the best of luck getting the schedules to resume on their own.

Thank you very much wykabryan - nice to have that confirmed!

I'll initially be running Server 11 and Server 2008 concurrently, so should have a bit of time for testing & troubleshooting.
