I want to setup POP3 server on exchange server 2003. I have done following
things.

1. Started POP3 service on Exchange 2003 server
2. started IMAP4 Server on Exchange 2003 server
3. On POP3 which is my exchange server I have checked by typing on
command prompt telnet localhost 110 reply was +ok Microsoft exchange
   server 2003 pop3 server version 6.5.7638.1 ready

Questions :

1. Steps to enable secure POP3.
2. What are the ports and how to open them for pop3 access from outside my network
3. After all what will be the outlook settings.

The ideal way to open ports in a pix/asa for a server is to do static nat:

static(inside,outside) { public ip of exchange server} {internal ip address of server} netmask 255.255.255.255 0 0

the an access list for inbound pop:

access-list outside_inside permit tcp any host  {public ip of exchange server} eq 110

access-group in interface outside

You can also do port forwarding (used if you have only one static ip- the outside interface of the pix/asa)

for IMAP4 or secure POP3 just substitue the following ports by adding additional access lists:
143 is IMAP or do eq IMAP4 instead of port#

POP3  secure   tcp 995
