How do I configure my Symantec Antivirus to send out email alert when specific machine gets virus?

Dear all experts,

I'm using Symantec Antivirus corporate edition 10.0, wonder where can I configure the administration console so that it can send out the email alert to administrator when some machine gets virus.  Do i need to install additional software?

When you install the server there are a couple of optional things to install.  The older technique is to use AMS reporting... which I think still works.  Once it's installed, from the console, you can configure AMS to send out emails and or messages to certain computers.

The newer way that is present in 10.x is called reporting.  I believe that it's also an optional install.  Basically you set up your AV server as a reporting server and once again from within the console you can have it alert various individuals by email.

Check the documentation that comes with the CD or downloaded install for more specific info.
