I'm trying to install the CRM 3.0 laptop client for Outlook on an XP with SP3 machine running Office 2007 (standard version, not enterprise or professional).
However, at the System requirements screen (where it runs the verification tasks) I get the following results:
- Windows OS: Ticked
- CRM Client for MS Office Outlook: Crossed (see below)
- MS Outlook: Crossed (see below)
- MS CRM Client for outlook user input: Ticked
- MS SQL Server Desktop Engine: Ticked.
So, the main two errors above contain the following details:
"An incompatible version of the Microsoft CRM desktop client for Outlook or the Microsoft CRM laptop client for Outlook is already installed on this computer: Product: Microsoft CRM laptop client for Microsoft Office Outlook, Version: 3.0.5300.0, User: FBloggs\Fred Blogs. Before continuing the current installation, remove the incompatible version"
The second error is:
"Setup failed to determine whether a supported version of Microsoft Outlook is installed. View the details in the log file C:\Documents and Settings\fredb.domain\Application Data\Microsoft\MSCRM\Logs\crm30clientsetup.log"
[should point out that I've masked the domain and username]
Now, I've checked Program files, no CRM there. I've deleted all other traces of crm (both in the programs folder, and in each user account folder) and i've been through the registry clearing out any CRM entries.
Also, I'm not sure if the version of Office this user has is compatible. I tried the CRM installer on my 2007 Enterprise office and it went on without a hitch.
Incidently, i am using the CRM V3c version on both of these installs!!!
Is there anything else I can try?
