What is the network type you set for the server 2008?  Is it using NAT? Or is it using the Hosts Network Adapter to get a LAN network IP?  Are the other systems also part of VMware VMs?
Check the IP on the VM win2k8 and the IP on the other servers.  Are they on the same IP segment?

Its OK, theres a setting thats actually in VMware to "bridge" its not actually anything to do with the windows OS as soon as I found that and made the bridge from VMware to the computer it was up and running, tghanks for the input anyhow, cheers
