restore mysql data from filesystem? (c:\program files\mysql\...)

Is it possible to restore a mysql database from the filesystem?  

ie, D:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 4.1\data\databasename

Yes, but tell me which Engine you are using?

 for MyISAM its easiest way.. just copy the folder(folder has DBNAME and it contain tables *.MYI,*.MYD,*.frm)

Make sure before copying to any MySQl server make sure the server is down..once copied you can restart server
