Hi all,

I have a user who just joined our company, he accidentally removed his old exchange account before backing up his contacts. He no longer has access to that exchange account he can't just connect to the server and download it again.

Is there a way to recover his contacts?

    Accepted Solution

Nope. if he didn't back them up before the account was removed AND there is no access to the other exchange server. then no.

If you did have access to the other server, then you could recover the mailbox and get the contents. But it doesn't sound like that is an option.

    Assisted Solution

Why doesnt he have access to that exchange account anymore?

Is the account still there but he just doesnt have access to it.

If the Account is still there an Exchange Admin can setup an Outlook Profile using this old account.
Open his Contacts and forward them to his new account.

    Thanks guys,

Unless a copy of the .ost file resides in the user's profile folder, there is nothing you can do in this situation. Backup you user's email, it will save you a headache in the future!
