Zimbra Mail Error - unable to send or receive

I have not been able to receive mail for today, and sending a message produces the following...

msg - system failure: MessagingException code - service.FAILURE method - ZmCsfeCommand.prototype.invoke detail - soap:Receiver

...this is the free version of Zimbra.  Any ideas?

I don't know zimbra, but it looks, that it's using postfix server to send emails.
This message: "fatal: Queue report unavailable - mail system is down" is about accessing emails queue, but it says, that your postfix is down.
Run your postfix SMTP server again (run command: /etc/init.d/postfix start).
If you don't have postfix installed, follow the ubuntu official guide:
https://help.ubuntu.com/8.04/serverguide/C/postfix.html
