Hi There

I am having n bit of trouble setting up MS Exchange to serve as the front end to a MS Exchange 2003 Clustered server farm.
The OWA part is up and running no problem but the ActiveSync is giving me some problems.

I do get a 505 error on internet explorer as the websites suggests, when accessing the activesync on the clusterservers url.
Some things i have tried:

Test-ActiveSyncConnectivity =>
WARNING: No suitable Mailbox servers were found to test.
WARNING: No Client Access servers were tested.

Test-MAPIConnectivity -server <<ClusterServerName>>
Test-MAPIConnectivity : "<<ClusterServerName>>" is running a previous version of Exchange a
nd does not support this task.

Has anybody setup a similar solution?
Any help on this will be appreciated.

Hi, you need to test the ActiveSync on your Front-end server (Exchange 2007 CAS) rather than using the Clusterserver URL.

Also let us know what kind of Certificate have you installed on the CAS server? if you have a 3rd party certificate, then try testing ActiveSync on https://testexchangeconnectivity.com.

I Know this. I was merely suggesting that the back-end server is running and working correctly.
I Have a thawte certificate loaded and the active sync service was running untill we added the 2007 front-end.

Ok, So have you installed the thwate certificate on the Exchange 2007 CAS server as well ?

YEH i have....
the problem is not with the certificate. My 2007 front end can not connect to my 2003 backend server.
As spesified in my original question it does not list a mailbox server when doing
Test-ActiveSyncConnectivity =>
WARNING: No suitable Mailbox servers were found to test.
WARNING: No Client Access servers were tested.

I Get this on the backend i see

An error occurred while accessing the Active Directory for user [FrontendServer]. Information cannot be retrieved from Active Directory due to an unknown error. Verify that the Exchange ActiveSync Server can communicate with Active Directory, and that the user has a valid account.
