Microsoft DPM 2007 SP1 - Data Protection Manager query

Hi

Im interested in using Microsoft DPM 2007 SP1 to replicate (DPM-2-DPM) my Hyper-V server with two guest OS (SBS 2008 Prem + Add SQL Server) to an identrical server in a datacenter, whats involved licence wise just trying to guage the costs, anyone have a good understanding of this do i need a server licence at both end s and also an agent at both end s please help cheers.

Hi

As far as I understand the licenses for DPM 2007 you will need 2 server licenses for the 2 DPM 2007 servers. You also need 1 client agent for the first DPM 2007 that you want to be protected by the second DPM 2007.

And of course, agents for all the servers you want to protect with the first DPM2007. Enterprise license to protect servers with applications (exchange, SQL, sharepoint) and Standard Licenses for File servers.
