Folder redirection file conflicts?

I've setup folder redirection but I cannot find files that had the same name conflicts.  What does folder redirection do with file name conflicts?  Does it move them to a conflict area?

user logs onto computer A for first time after folder redirection was setup, his documents get copied up.  One of the files is named sample.txt.

The same user logs onto computer B for the first time after folder redirection was setup, his local documents there also has a file named sample.txt.

What files wins?  and this there a location that conflict files get moved too?  We don't want to lose files...

Thanks for all your help!

    Accepted Solution

The file with the latest "modified date" wins because it's assumed that you want to keep the latest changes on any file.

If you are just setting up folder redirection and you have users with multiple copies of files on multiple machines, you really should consolidate those before implementing redirection.  Otherwise, you WILL lose any file with an older "modified date" that has the same name as another file on another computer for the same user profile.
