emac keeps jumping to the FINDER

I am working on an eMAC that is running OS X  10.4.11.  It constantly (everey 5 min or so) jumps out of whatever I am doing (ie, email, Safari, Word) to the Finder.  If I click back on what I am doing, it is fine for another few minutes.  It does not do it in safe mode.

Thanks for the reply, but I just found the solution to the problem.  It was a known issue with a recent Quicktime update and stuffit.  Thanks for the help.
