Do you have any offline or disconnected printers? If so, remove any offline or old/duplicate references to networked printers....then try opening a pdf again.<br />

Nothing has chgd w.r.t. printers (only one physical one installed).<br />
But yes i've installed several new apps.<br />

What used to be essentially instantaneous, is taking 45-60 seconds (and more) to open a PDF file<br />
in the full version of Acrobat.<br />
And similarly for PDFs from the web opened in a browser<br />
<br />
i have a dual processor, so 100% of each processor is noted as 50% of the machine...<br />
Acrobat.exe &nbsp; 40%<br />
Acroinfo.exe 40%<br />

any idea what caused this and what can be done?<br />
