Blackberry Outlook Calendar Invite

I have a blackberry professional Software on Server 2003, I have 2 blackberries a Curve 8330 from Verizon and a World Edition 8830. If I send an invitation from Outlook, the email is never delivered to the blackberry and never goes into the calendar. I deleted the user from the blackberry software and re-added, and then wiped the 2 hand helds and nothing.. The other phones are working fine.. I even updated the blackberry softeware on each phone and still nothing..

This sounds like initially a permission issue. Check AD for those users and make sure the BES (BPS) Admin account has the appropriate Send As, Special permissions.  Best thing if you are unsure, is go to an AD account of a bb user which is working correctly and compare permissions.

I thought that the BB account, just needed to log as a service, locally to the server and send as permissions. I compared accounts, and they look idenitcal. Maybe I'm miss understanding.

For the 2 phones not working, does other items sync ok?

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

Also do "regular" emails sync fine on the bb devices?

Yes, the calendar syncs fine, the email sends and recieves fine, its just when you send and invitation from Outlook the email doesnt go through and the Calendar doesnt automatically go into the BB calendar and it was working before..

SInce other phones are working, I would check to see that the user is NOT a DOMAIN admin in AD, since that causes issues.

Also try with a test account ( new simple user in AD ) and see if it works.

I hope this helps !

Did you possibly upgrade your Exchange server?  Check out:

Also in reference to the permission issue in the prior post:

"Basically, what you need to do is verify on the Blackberry user in question if, under their mailbox rights, your BES Admin has Full Mailbox Access under the 'Exchange Advanced', 'Mailbox Rights'. If your BES admin does not, it will not have rights to the mailbox to create Calendar objects, despite being able to sync Contacts, Mail and other items. The resolution is basically that the BES Admin account should be given both 'Receive As' and 'Send As' on the Exchange System Manager for the particular server which should also have 'Allow inheritable permissions from parent to propagate to this object' to shuffle it down to all your Blackberry Users.

The short, quick and dirty way to do this is to go to every Blackberry user in your Active Directory and go into the 'Exchange Advanced', 'Mailbox Rights' and grant the BES Admin 'Full mailbox access' for it to work.'
