HI all!

Can anyone help me with a few steps and utils how can I migrate 2 domains?

I have now 2 domain Windows 2003. domainA.com and domainA.net, the domain have the same netbios name DomainA. The 2 forests and domains are not trusted because they have the same netbios name

Each domain has its own exchange oranization

I need to move all users/computers from DomainA.net to the domainb.net with profiles mailboxes.

I can use the admigrate utility to migrate the users accounts, but i don't know how can I migrate the computers and the users profiles.

For example User1 from domainA.net logon on Workstation1 wich is joined to domainA.net, I migrate the User1 from donainA.net to domainA.com, also I join the Workstation1 from domainA.net to domainA.com, but what will happen when the user logon? How can I migrate his profile?

Also I need a solution for moving his mailbox from exch01.domainA.net to exch01.domainA.com

Can anyone help me?

Best regards

I am certain that due to the fact that you have the same domain name for both domains that you cannot migrate from one to the other.

Normally you would create a trust between the two and then migrate the users, mail and computers using the ADMT tools but these need to have a trust and as you have the same domain name there are not much options.

You will have to export the mailboxes using ExMerge and export/import the users using LDIFDE

There is a good article here on the domain rename tool - you can run this on Windows 2003:

http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Domain-Rename.html

You need to ensure you have everything covered prior to implementing the domain rename. I would just scrap the conflicting new domain and then reimplement with a new and different name. If you do not want to do this then the domain rename route is worth looking at.

If you resolve the duplicate netbios name then you can create the trust and us ADMT and Exchange Migration Wizard to migrate users, computer, profiles, mailboxes etc.
