MS bulletin 09-004 2 instances SQL Srvr, different versions
One server, w2003 fully patched.
2 instances of sql server on the one box.
Instance 1: sql2k sp3a with patches. Realize sp4 must be deployed b4 patching.
Instance 2: sql 2005 sp2 with patches.
I successfully deployed ms04-009 to the 2005 instance but am not able to
deploy the 2k version of the patch to the 2k instance. The message is that
the management tools are the same. Both instances are using the mgmt studio.
Questions are:
1. Can I install sql2k sp4 to instance 1 without harming instance 2?
2. If so, how can I then install the 2k verison of 4-009 to instance 1
successfully and will it harm the 2005 instance?
