Can I prevent certain users from seeing a folder?

I am new to SharePoint 3.0.  I have created a folder in a library, and I want to control
who can see that folder.  It is not enough that they cannot access docs within that
folder ---- I do not want them to even see the folder. Is this possible in Sharepoint 3.0?

    Accepted Solution

Not a problem, Use the drop down list on the folder's name column choose Manage Permissions. From here you can break inheritance from the library and choose who gets what level of permission to the folder.

That's a good and accurate answer, worth the 250 points.  The problem is that I only have
contributor rights and cannot see the option "Manage Permissions".  Can you tell me what level
of user I would need to be to in order to see the option "Manage Permissions"?   Thanks.

You would need Manage Heirarchy or Full Control.
