Hall.DLL Missing or corrupted Windows 2003

Hi All,

I have a Dell Poweredge 2900III  server running Windows Server 2003 R2 and when I boot I receive an error message that Hal.DLL is missing or corrupted. The strange thing is that the past week I had the same problem on an ol HP Proliant 350 and was the reason why I replaced it with this new machine. Now I get the same error on a different machine.

Everything that I found on your site and on my research was mentioning about Windows XP and Vista only and I was just wondering whether I am so lucky that this error came to me two times on two different machines running Windows 2003.

Please advise and any help will be HIGHLY appreciated.

Boot from Win2k3 CD and press R, enter to Recovery console and try copying hal.dll from another identical machine to system32 of your windows.
