BitDefender update service is unavalible

Hi friends
I bought BitDefender Total security 2009 but when I try to update is not updated .
"BitDefender update service is unavalible"
I login to MS services and check for Bitdefender update serivses and I found it "Stop" I try to restart
I got the message attached message.
any advice

Go to run
Type SERVICES.MSC
find All Bit Defender Services...
Click on Their Properties
Set All  That Will To AUTOMATIC........
This will change the GREY non responive BD icon back to RED

find and right click Bit Defender Arrakis Server
Click on its Properties
Set it to AUTOMATIC
This will fix the BD2009 glitch.

all of them automatic except " BitDefender Threat Scanner" when ?I try to make it auto I got "access is denied"
by the way I'm login as administrator
still is disable to update

Your BD installation may be  corrupt?
If your using XP then play safe by making a restore point first.
Copy your registration key.
Open program files / BD / Repair or Remove.
Remove /  Uninstall BD.
Go to their site http://www.bitdefender.com/site/Downloads/
Download and install trial version BD total security 2009 (same as full, but will request reg. key after trial period) then enter your reg. key to open full version.

I just re-checked.
Change " Background Intelligent Transfer Service" from manual to automatic.
If not that then see my previous comment.

I instal the software in 2 other P.C and I got the same result :-( no update

I need more info.
Is windows XP udated & its firewall turned off?
Is BD icon red?, R click it, click "show", click "general", what does "registration & expires in " say?
Are you running any other virus softwares or firewalls & what kind of internet connection?  
How did you install BD, from download or CD? & did BD update during install?
Have you contacted BD support about this?
Since you have 2 other PC's, then test one as I said before: Your BD installation may be  corrupt?

Dont enter your reg, key, will it update as trial version?
BD can clash with other softwares, what additional software have you installed on all 3 PC's?
Finnally what model are the PC's?

I did some more research & this should fix your problem.
I see from your post that BitDefender Desktop Update Service is set to auto. but has not started,so:
- go to Start and click Run;
- type "services.msc" and hit Enter (without the quotation marks);
- right-click BitDefender Desktop Update Service and select Start.
- open BitDefender in Advanced View and check if the Update module is working properly.
If still not updating then download this BD Retore Patch.

- Download the patch and save it on your desktop;
- Run it and wait until it completes (it may take from 5 to 20 minutes);
- reboot the computer after the procedure is finished;
- check if the BitDefender Update Module is working properly.

I did these steps many times before I post this question . but still  update is not working

many times with no pending status long time

BD can clash with other softwares, what additional software have you installed on all 3 PC's?
normal software and one of them is new laptop toshiba with the standard software

Did you try the patch link in my last post?
Also BD can require a few restarts to install its updates properly, especially if ofline for a few days, this was never the case previous to 2009 versions, seems they are still de-bugging it.
Competition be first "on the shelf" is leading to raw releases.
Re-insalling the latest release  http://www.bitdefender.com/site/Downloads/ should solve your problem.
