No, it's a collection of everything in that folder.  The big one is ntuser.dat, which is essentially the users' section of the registry.  But in speparate folders/files in that tree you'd also find things like the contents of the Desktop, "My Documents", Favorites, Outlook data files, Internet Explorer history, etc.

I would just copy ALL of the contents of \Docs & Settings\UserName - just make sure you have hidden/system files/folders visible.  With any folder open, go Tools then Folder Options, then the View tab.

Then you can go into \Docs & Settings\UserName, press CTRL-A to select all, right-click -> Copy, go to the new folder location and right-click -> paste, and allow everything to overwrite.

This is assuming you don't have anything of value you want to save in the new profile location, and that you have the same versions of all the same software installed, and installed in the same location.

On Windows XP it's in C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName, on Vista it's in C:\Users\YourUserName.

is it the ntuser.dat.log file that saves the info?

Hello Maximvs13,

1. Adding to what tgerber said, IE Favorites are found by going to Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/View. Select Show hidden files and folders. Then go to C:\Documents and Settings\\Favorites. Right click/unhide.

2. What version of Internet Explorer are you using? Save password loations are found in registry

2. The addresses that you send emails are located in a NK2 file.  With Outlook close, search for *.NK2.

In Windows XP, .NK2 file is located in
C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook folder. It is a hidden file. Go to any folder and select Tools > Folders Options > View. Check "Show hidden files and folders".  Click OK.

In Windows Vista, file is located in C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook

Hope this helps!

for sure, outlook's folders and emails is in the location
C:\Documents and Settings\%account name%\Local settings\Application data\Identities\{SOMELONGNUMBER}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
Todd GerbertIT ConsultantCommented:
That's Outlook Express, but not true Microsoft Office Outlook (also not true under Vista for either).
Lukasz ChmielewskiCommented:
right... uhm... well, that is useful info about express anyway :)
