Server is W2k08 Enterprise, with 16GB ram.  We have a custom DB that runs on SQL 2005.  All sites (6) avg 6 users each site, connect via TS throught VPN.  DB gets very slow, and Avg Disk Queue Length is very high.  I have read about enabling PAE on the server, but I am worried about potential problems with pritner drivers or other drivers.  Can anyone give advice?

Please find the link below through which you can identify the reasons for Very high AVG Disk Queue Length.

Make sure you have appropriate indexes and the queries are tuned out so that it can be reduced in the other way around.

You can give a try on PAE, probably you may or may not  face some issues in performance or Boot failure. on those situations disable PAE.
