Resource Conflict on Boot

Have customer with Dell Inspiron laptop getting followinf error at boot: Error Resource Conflict - PCI - Network Controller on Motherboard Bus:08, Device:00, Function:00.  Then 3 more errors of Resource Conflict follow that on.  They read PCI on Motherboard and with these the Device reads 00 for the first, 01 for the 2nd and 02 for the third.  If I hit F1, the laptop will boot into Windows. If I go into Device Mgr, it has the onboard NIC listed under Other Devices.  If I try to install the driver, it doesn't work. Even if I turn off the NIC in the BIOS, it doesn't help.  I haven't seen this before.  I don't know if the NIC or the Motherboard is malfunctioning.  Need help.

seems a bad nic, but it can come from the motherboard too
is all the rest working? except the nic?   then buy another nic, and use that

but if you keep getting the error, try resetting the bios, or try defaults

Nobus - Thanks for the response.  Everything else seems to be working but the on-board nic including wireless.  Have flashed the bios, set bios to load defaults, have disabled nic in the BIOS, but nothing stops the boot error.  That's why I have a feeling it's the mobo.
yep - seems a pci related problem on the mobo..

One last thought. Is it worth it to strip the laptop down to remove the battery to completely clear the CMOS?
