Child program terminated with singal 0x4

Hi All,

My server is running Solaris 8. I found that a child program was termined with signal 0x4?
Where can I check what signal 0x 4 means? Please advise. Thanks.

    Accepted Solution

    signal 0x 4 -- illegal instruction.  It could be a bug in your app cause the problem.
    Have a look at the /usr/include/sys/signal.h file.
    man signal
    man sigset
    for more details.

    The default action on getting a SIGILL is to produce a core file. If you didn't override the action, you should be able to find the core file and using pstack/dbx/gdb/mdb, figure out just what went wrong.
