What command are you trying to use to federate the custom node into your domain?

What you should be doing is:

- On the "custom node" machine
- Open a command prompt
- "cd" to the WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\<profileName>\bin directory
- and execute the "addNode" command, the parameters for which are:

Usage: addNode dmgr_host [dmgr_port] [-conntype <type>] [-includeapps]
           [-includebuses] [-startingport <portnumber>] [-portprops
           <qualified-filename>] [-nodeagentshortname <name>] [-nodegroupname
           <name>] [-registerservice] [-serviceusername <name>]
           [-servicepassword <password>] [-coregroupname <name>] [-noagent]
[-statusport <port>] [-quiet] [-nowait] [-logfile <filename>]
[-replacelog] [-trace] [-username <username>] [-password <pwd>]
           [-localusername <localusername>] [-localpassword <localpassword>]

The only required parameter is the dmgr_host (name or IP address)

Since you are using RedHad, the "WebSphere" directory path will be something like:

/opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/server1/bin

and the addNode command needs to be called like:

./addNode.sh ...

sorry, something like:

/opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/AppSrv01/bin

Check whether DNS is getting resolved from the machine u tried to add node.
If it is getting resolved explain how ur trying to federate the node, whether from the admin console or from the custom node.

I wanted to verify the Hostname is getting resolved using DNS.
Please attach the addNode.log and the command which you are trying to execute.

Please tell me how can i check whether hostname is getting resolved using DNS or not. send some commands.

You can do a nslookup for the hostname from the DMGR and custom node. If not getting resolved, check the DNS entry. I guess the DMGR cannot find the host ciglinux1. So please check  whether host is getting resolved from DMGR.
Command is $ nslookup <hostname>

You can have a workaround by updating /etc/hosts file with the hostname and IP address  of the custom node on DMGR and custom node.

Thats a great news.

I think you have posted a question similar to this. If the answer to your question is solved please close this one. I will answer in the other one.

Also upload the logs\nodeagent details in the other question. I will verify.
