Hi Experts,

Can anyone recommend a Raid Controller (Raid, 0, 1 and 10 capable) for a supermicro X7QC3 Motherboard we are about to install in a new server.

I believe the mobo comes with HostRaid on board but this is a software raid solution, I am looking for something a bit faster than this although it doesn't need to be top-end, something middeling would be ok, something reliable and well supported i would guess.

    Hi There,

Drives would be SAS, 4 In total. Striped across 2 then mirrored = 4

    Accepted Solution

That board has a LSI 1068e SAS controller which if I'm not mistaken can be used as either Hardware or Software RAID depending on which firmware you use.
