Filemaker pro send mail authentication error from outlook

I have a .fp7 file running in filemaker pro 8.5

I have created a send email loop script that sends confirmation letters to registrants.

The sendmail uses outlook 2003 with exchange to send the email.

Everything works, but every mail that is sent has a pop up box from outlook asking for permission for filemaker to use the outlook engine to send mail.

I need a solution to get rid of this popup, as now I am sending out ~25-30 emails a day.

Please advise? (windows XP pro environment, not apple)

there is an option in outlook to disable this stuff, but I have only a french OE here.
in OE it's in options/security, then something like "warn me if another program is trying to send an email on my behalf" (translated approx.)
yous should have an equiv. thing in office outlook. I can check this with a friend, but he's not online at the moment.

I think that's it, in outlook 2007, it's under Tools>trust center>programmatic access

I'm verifying it with our user that it works on their machine, but I believe that's what I needed.

Unfortunately that did not work. I set it to allow everything, as well as changed the macro settings to allow for all macros, tested and still gave us the popup message.

any other suggestions for settings?

what antivirus and firewall software are you using on that machine? The pop-up you are getting can be cause by your firewall or av, for example, Zone Alarm would give this exact message (and the fix would be to set filemaker pro 8.5 as trusted application within zonealarm)

use OE as default mailer, it works (tested on mine).
or upgrade to fm10, it has its own SMTP client, no need to use outlook anymore.

if OE is default, it does not prevent from using outlook to send emails manually.

trend micro is used as the company-wide antivirus. I'll check that route out.

I'll try the OE method as a last resort

Yes that's an email security setting.

You may avoid these issues and make emailing easier with FileMaker Pro v10 which lets you do direct SMTP which means you don't need an email client anymore to send.

Was not able to adjust trendmicro enough to get it to work through outlook.

Am not able to get OE to work either since everyone is on exchange, and I do not have the ability to split the email routing to create a pop account for OE to use.

We are currently trying the trial of the outlook manipulator third party plugin.

Upgrading to FM10 is not an option as of now, as it would require ~$2500 for us to upgrade all of our licenses.

it may be cheaper now, but sooner or later you'll have to upgrade, and your investment in the plug-in will be redundant...
