Can I upgrade Lenovo R500 laptop from Vista Home Basic to Vista Business without losing programming?
Watch Question

I am referring to NOT losing the many utilities that Lenovo shipped with my new laptop if I use a full copy of VISTA Business going from VISTA Home Basic.
The answer is yes so don worry about it, either way just keep your cds near just in case but to be sure read this:
and when upgrading always backup (thats a law, believe me, I learn the hard way)

I only have a FULL copy of VISTA Business with SP1 so I'm unsure if that will permit me to preserve my settings, Lenovo laptop R500 apps that shipped with the new hardware  and data if I upgraded from VISTA Home Basic. -- That's the reason for my concern.

I am planning to buy a 320GB HDD, WD3200BEKT SATA 320GB 7200 RPM for $99.99 at www.sparepartswahrehouse.com  as I only have an 80GB HDD in this laptop now.
The above mentioned site also has a configurator diag that determines which drives will be compatible with my laptop, 2714CTO by Lenovo.
Then I will install my full version of VISTA Business and port the utilities and settings and the email to the new drive.
I appreciate your advice
