Reckon POS and Quicken not working over a network, please help

Dear Experts,

I have two computers networked over a network. its a simple network with jus the two computers over a switch.

One computer 1, i have quickbooks 2007/08 and Reckon Quick POS administrator. One computer 2 we have Reckon Quick POS Terminal installed.

As you may gather computer 1, retrives all sales from each day, when we do a end of day, from computer 2.

The problem we are haivng since we re-installed the system. POS Terminal, when we tender a sale, it does not give a sub total, or total amount.  I have never seen this happen before. I tried a re-install of the program with no luck. I have even tried resetting the keys on the keyboard to their default function in case that would help... but no luck. can you please help?

Problem 2, when we are doing a post to get the data from the terminal pc(pc2) to pc1 where we work on the data in administrator and the Quickbooks  we get an error,  "Error on line 8 can not record transaction, An error occurred while posting a transaction to the quickbooks file" Error code: -8, can you please help?

Also can anyone give me the steps to setting up quickbooks over a netowkr like i have, just want to see if i have done anything wrong!

Thank you so much for your time i hope you can help me!

Can you view the import file and look at line 8, This sounds like an error in the import file rather than a network problem.  You could try opening  a copy in notepad or excel and look at eighth line to see if we can track down the problem.
