How to fix TrendMicro exe error

We use TrendMicro office scan in our windows environment.  The workstations have XP professional.  Many ( but not all ) off the pcs show this error when loading TrendMicro.  It pops up 8 times and when we close it it doesn't come back until someone else signs in or the pc is rebooted. It is very annoying though.  We have uninstalled and installed the program.  In some cases even when we have uninstalled the error still comes up.  It is "ntrtscan.exe has encountered an error and needs to close"

I have had this error before and a simple un-install and reinstall to the latest version fixed it.
Make sure though that you install the latest version of the TREND MICRO OFFICE SCAN, which is 8.0 with SP1.

Do you know if I have to update the version on the server as well?

Yes very much so. Update the server to Office Scan 8.0 and role out the new version to the clients using AUTOPCC.exe or CLIENTPACKAGER tool, whichever you use.

Yes they did thanks. But that was quick. Did you already install Office Scan 8.0 and tried what I said. Also are you in Australia?? I can give you their support no.'s and they are usually very helpful. You will be surprised.

I am in Canada.  I was already in the process of installing Office Scan 8 on the server when i was writing this question.  And yes it worked.  thanks.
