Multiple MobileMe Web Galleries

I want to create at least 2 MobileMe web galleries - I have asked this question on other forums and received no response.

I have one existing gallery - - which I find on my iDisk under jamartn...Web...Sites..._gallery.

How do I create a second gallery on this iDisk. From iPhoto, selecting Publish for a selected set of photos, currently publishes to the existing Gallery - jamartn.

If I want a second MobileMe Gallery, say, how do I create and populate this second Gallery? which would have an address (URL) different from the existing gallery?

Texts I have read (e.g. iPhoto 08 - The Missing Manual) mention the possibility ("So are any other galleries you publish." - page 237), but offer no method to accomplish this.

Can I do this from within iPhoto 09 - or must I add root folders to my iDisk.

If you create Albums in iPhoto .. each one you publish will have its own web folder in MobileMe under the Galleries setting and you can administer the galleries from within the MobileMe interface.

iPhoto is designed ONLY to publish photos to the MobileMe default gallery.

If you want to create a second gallery you will have to do it manually ..
there is an option when publishing to HIDE the photo album .. i.e. not show it on the Gallery page .. in this way you can link directly to it using the URL

The other option is to start using iWeb to produce Photo Galleries on your Mobile Me account.

Remembering I have Aperture 2, I found this on the web:

"...The latest version of Aperture includes a new option that allows you to directly create a MobileMe Gallery and automatically upload it online to a pre-configured .Mac (or account..."

"In Settings, I can quickly input all the necessary information about the gallery I want to create,..."
Could this be a method to create additional MobileMe galleries? I have read on the web of problems with this method, though from last year.

    Accepted Solution

    No, sorry.

Aperture will allow you to  create your MM Gallery if it is not already in place and add/remove albums .. but the MM Gallery is designed to only have 1 core gallery with multiple albums inside.

Like I said .. you can either create hidden Albums, create separate iWeb websites with albums or galleries in each one .. or if you're fairly web literate you can copy an album from MM to your Mac and then re-upload it to another website.
