ms crm 4.0 import organization tool performance problem

I redeployed an existing MSCRM Database to a new domain using the import organization tool of crm 4.0. The procedure seems ok but it is over 10 hours now and it is still not finished. May I know whether this is normal? my db is quite big, more than 20 gb. Is there any tricks to make it faster?

I've not done this myself, but 10 hours seems like an unrealistically long time.  Check the procedure in this KB article from MS to see if there are any steps you might have missed (I believe you will want the second of the 3 available options):
