.Net Framework configuration Tools on Windows Server 2008

I installed Visual Studio 2008 on a Windows Server 2008 Virtual Machine.
I would like to work on a project that is on the shared drive i.e. on the host operating system, however when I access the solution from Visual Studio within the Win 2008 VM I get a message that the location of the project is not a trusted location. In the past I have enabled this using the .Net Framework Configuration tools, howevever I am unable to find the .Net Framework Configuration tools in Win 2008. I have installed the Visual Studio SDK and the Windows SDK for windows 2008 .
How can I set the shared drive on the host OS to be a trusted location?
