Deleted iPhone calendar event wont delete from Outlook / Exchange

I'm using an iPhone 3G with Exchange (Active Sync) on SBS2003. If I delete a calendar event on the iPhone, it doesn't automatically delete from Outlook / Exchange. The iPhone entry is removed but the Exchange item isn't

Everything else seems to be ok. I can delete it from Outlook and the iPhone is updated in a few seconds. It just doesn't seem to work the other way around. I can edit the entry on the iPhone just fine inc. moving to another day, repeating etc. It just refuses to actually delete from Exchange when deleting from the iPhone.  If I edit the Exchange entry (that shouldn't now exist) it then reappears on the iPhone.

I'm using this:
iPhone 3G (Firmware 02.28.00)
SBS 2003 Std R2. SP2

Many thanks guys.

Do you get an error on the iPhone if you try and manually sync the device?

Thanks for the reply.

There isn't an option to manually sync it when using Exchange (unless I missed that option)

However, in a "Baby out with the bathwater" approach, I removed and recreated the profile completely, which seemed to fix it.

Thanks again.

Whereas the Expert didn't supply the answer, it did point me in the direction on a re-sync.
