How to write TNS entry for salesforce.com server

Hi All,

I need to write TNS entry for salesforce.com to connect from organisation database.
test_db =
      (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = hydhtc100350)(PORT = 1521))
      (SERVICE_NAME = test)

Also can i connect to salesforce.com server from my organisation server (SQL Server).

Thanks in advance.

In answer to your connectivity to SQL server, the best option is dbAmp from Forceamp.com. It installs to your SQL server as an SQL Linked Server and uses a provider that installs to the server and connects to your salesforce.com instance.

You can read more about it in this post.

As for TNS, I'm not sure what that means. Can you clarify? It looks like you are looking for some sort of API access? If so, check out the salesforce.com API docs. Here is the SOAP sample for initiating a session with salesforce from an external source.
