Hi Folks,

how do you give yourself permission to create a analysis services database. Is there some permission or role you need to grant?

You'll probably need administrator rights on the SSAS server.  Are you local admin on that machine?

Another thing to check is in the SSAS server properties (through SSMS), in the Advanced properties (checkbox) there's a setting called Security \BuiltinAdminsAreServerAdmins.   This should be set to true (which is the default).
