Hi
I am looking into various Java Code Analyzer tools . The one that catches the eye is JStyle
because of the following metrics
Depth of Inheritance
Class fan-in/fan-out
RFC
LCOM
Cyclomatic Number
Halstead Measures
Weighted Methods Complexity
However I am not in a position to afford the steep license fee.

Question : Is there any other opensource tools that can generate the same metrics preferably in XML format?

you can take a look on JavaNCSS  ( http://www.kclee.de/clemens/java/javancss/ ), on metrics (http://metrics.sourceforge.net/) and on pmd (http://pmd.sourceforge.net/).

If you are using maven, take also a look on sonar which aggregates results from JavaNCSS, Checkstyle, PMD, cobertura in a synthetic view.
