.NET 3.5 Framework

I am using 3.5 framework. I want to use Linq. My database is in Oracle. Is it feasible to use Linked servers in terms of performance and Maintainability?

    Well we stepped away from the linked servers.

    Not because of performance or so, but just because at a certain time you don't know
    what database all are linked together.

    So we connect to one database or another and when we want to import/export data we use ssis.

    So this maybe answers the question about maintainability.
