Sony VAIO intermittently logs out when you close the machine (and sometimes after a half-hour or so)

Hi, when I close my Sony VAIO (VGN-SZ760N), it often logs me out, so that I have to re-enter my password and start all my programs back up.

Anyone have any idea why this is happening?

My computer also sometimes does the same thing when I just leave it running for a while. I can't figure out why it does this some times and not others (it's about 50/50).

Thanks! (I am running Windows XP Service Pack 3 Build 2600.)

Are you on the Nvidea driver mode or Intel?
If Nvid...change over to Intel and see if this happens

I have a slightly older flavour (SZ4 series) and I think mine did that too - it was down to the drivers from what I remember for the Nvid graphics card

Not sure... how do I check if I am or not?
See the two switches under your screen lid area?
One is for wireless
The other one is for graphics card
forgot what it says but one side is Speed and the other is Stamina I think?
Stamina should be Intel (basically lower powered/memory but better battery life and runs cooler) and the other one is Nvid. which consumes more battery life, runs hotter etc
I'll try setting it to Stamina and restarting.

Sony Power management software is really not user-friendly I find!
