Screen Tips and Double Click functionality in Visio Viewer

I have a multi-page diagram in Visio that extensively uses screen-tips and navigation by double-clicking shapes.

The document is to be distributed, and users will be using Visio Viewer to see its content. When I test-open my Visio diagram in Visio Viewer, the screen tips, and double-click behaviour doesn't work.

Is there a way to make the screen-tips work, and double-click functionality to move around the document.

If the answer is no, do you have any other suggestions how to achieve similar functionality?

Please advise, thanks

Though I haven't tested the two specific things you're asking about with the Visio Viewer, I have found other Visio features that don't work correctly in the Viewer.

However, I've found that the File\Save as Web Page... function works very nicely for just about everything. There is one extra bit of preparation you have to do to get the tooltip text to work in the saved web pages -- you'll find a discussion about it here:
Note the link to the Visio developers' blog for specific details.

If you have a very large number of existing shapes that you need to alter to make web tooltip text work, let  me know and we can probably throw together a macro to make it easier.

Scott, fantastic response - really appreciated. I will be looking at this again shortly, and will come back to you.
