Slow Typing Response from Laptop Keyboard (Vista, Word 2007)

I can be typing along fine in a Word document and all of a sudden the respose from my Keyboard has like a 0.5 second delay. If I open anything else (like Notepad, or even another Word document) the typing resonse is fine. If I open and close the Word document the typing response is fine for another few minutes.

This just started happening. I've had there laptop for a year or more. There have been no recent upgrades or changes to the software. I checked the Filter Key settings and that seems okay.

Any idea?

THanks,
Bryan

If you have XP with service pack 3 recently installed, with Office 2007, this may be a RAM issue. You may need more RAM.

I think I found the problem. If I have the "Review" tab selected, the typing slows. If I click over to another tab, it's fine again. (How lame...) If someone with Office 2007 can verify this happens with their install I'll award the points.

I tried to duplicate on my install & mine worked fine on my tablet with 2 GB of RAM. I tried on my desktop with 256mb of RAM & it was a little slower on the review tab & the mailings tab.

Inteterting. Maybe it's rooted in memory. Odd that it just started happening all of a sudden. (That laptop is strictly an "Office" PC.)

Thanks

You might want to try removing the battery.  I had a Dell Inspiron which had a known dead battery and had similar typing issues.  After removing the battery and running only on the power supply, it resolved the problem.
