Getting IMAP server to work with JIRA so can send emails that will post as issues/comments

This problem addresses an open-source issue-tracking program called JIRA.  I am  stuck in what looks like catch-22 as I suspect I need to obtain an SSL certificate in order to resolve my problem, however, I receive a "file not found in specified path" error when trying to import the certificate. I have double-checked my command sequence and file path and still receive the aforementioned error message. What this question is about is that I am trying to set up email communication between our institution's Exchange 2007 server and JIRA so that users can email JIRA and an issue or comment will automatically be generated in JIRA. I have not setup LDAP integration yet (we use Active Directory) although this is planned, but I have created a user in JIRA with the exact username of the user I created in Active Directory for this purpose. I am using IMAP instead of POP. Our Exchange server does or can use SSL for IMAP. I have tried both not using SSL and using SSL. IF I use SSL, I get an "AUTHENTICATE failed" message instead of the "no login methods supported...." message. I am trying to get hold of the central IT contact at my location to find out more about SSL certficates but in the meantime I would like to pass this inquiry on to you for further review as it could be something else to address. The deadline for enabling this is within a day or two. Any assistance is appreciated. I have attached some of the the day's log of activity as well for your review. Thank you in advance for your time.

I'd try setting up a pop/imap client (such as Outlook Express or Thunderbird) and verify the user account is working first.
