WSUSService will not start

Getting the following error when trying to start the service:  Could not start the Update Services service on local computer.  Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Event viewer shows the following:  Source ASP.NET 2.0.50727.0 Failed to execute request because the App-Domain could not be created. Error: 0x80070005 Access is denied

    Accepted Solution

    We suspect that this issue may have been related to a virus (CONFICKER). Cleaning the virus then reloading the OS resolved the problem.
